A masterclass with Brendan Boyle

Last Wednesday I was lucky enough to attend a masterclass with Brendan Boyle from IDEO as part of the Creative Innovation conference.

It was wonderful to hear him speak about his process. A few key points I took away:

• Use up all your good ideas everyday and just keep doing more of it!
• When gaining inspiration, Observe & Inquire. Try to always get out of people the WHY… Why do they do things the way they do?
• Get out there and look, listen and try (don’t just think you know what it would be like to be in their situation)
• Use story telling to develop ideas. If you tell a story of the WHOLE experience there’s always areas to innovate. Telling a story not a concept allows people to give you richer feedback.
