Design Inspiration
If you, too, love Skulls…
I highly recommend you invest in this book. I purchased it as a Christmas gift last week, but am going to be very sad to part with it.
My favourite feature of the book is the ‘skeleton’ binding. The title is scribbled over it, making it look very unique and a lot less polished.
The book looks at the way we (I know I’m not just speaking for myself here..) have grown our obsession with skulls in fashion, street art, music and graphic design. Beautiful photos and a really well put together little book. Read more…

book of the week
As the Blueboat “librarian”, I’m assigned to pick out a book a week for our studio as inspiration and thought it would be worthwhile to share it with all of you!

portable privacy
While researching various ways to fold paper (for the design of an invitation) I came across VEASYBLE. A set of wearable accessories made from paper bonded to polyethylene and fabric that can be converted into a means of isolation.
Pretty cool if you ask me.

the colours we wear
Perhaps I’m in a colour mood all this week with ANOTHER post relating to colours… Here’s a lovely website I found that’s a daily inspiration of color palettes from street outfits. Feast your eyes on some fashion and colour!

vagabond adventures
At the moment I am a very jealous girl as my brother-in-law Lachie and his girlfriend Lucie are traveling around South Africa and beyond, with their trusty puppy campanion Bow Wow – making up a unique adventure team called Vagabond Adventures. Their dream is to travel the World by land and sea – sharing experiences and insights, learning new skills, making new friendships and collecting Vagabond Treasures.
They are traveling in support of the charity Back to Africa which relocates rare and endangered African animals from zoos around the world ‘back to Africa.’ They also run an online shop called Vagabond Van which has some very cool eclectic, colourful and one-of-a-kind, clothes and accessories which began with the oh-so-talented Lucie as a mobile boutique, operating from a 1952 Flying Cloud Airstream caravan.
Below is a few photo’s and be sure to click through to the Vagabond Adventures blog, to hear more about their story, it’s well worth it – even if you will end up a little jealous like me!
